Welcome to v2 of possibly our most beloved brew, Bumper Boat. Envisioned as a melted ice cream beer, we've strayed from the original to one of our favourite flavours of ice cream: Chocolate Peanut Butter. This iteration contains the same PB from v1, but we replaced the strawberry with delicious Cholaca Liquid Cacao, made from 100% pure, real cacao beans. Read more about Cholaca here.
What You’ll Love About It
You know that little concoction called ice cream soup? Where you'd wait for the ice cream to melt, rapidly swirling it in the bowl until it was the perfect consistency to drink? This is that, in beer form.
How It's Made
This one starts life as a pale ale brewed with wheat and oats, but barely hopped at all. Near the end of the boil we add an amount of lactose that literally made our head brewer uncomfortable, but he did it just the same. As fermentation finished we added a LOT of Cholaca liquid cacao, peanut butter, and vanilla. So much that just the chocolate & peanut butter in this beer cost more than most of our entire other beers.
Why Is It Called Bumper Boat?
Arguably the most fun element of the summer exhibition seemed a fitting name for arguably our most fun beer.

Bumper Boat was supposed to be a series when we started it, but people fell for the original Strawberry PB&J. We've finally gone back to the plan with this second iteration of one of our favourite SITW beers.
